Friends of Chesapeake Animal Services 

A concerned group of volunteers at Chesapeake Animal Control were excited to hear that the City had plans to build a new shelter.  This small group of citizens decided that it was time to help the City by orchestrating a Community Fund Raiser to augment the funds needed to build this new shelter.  

We soon discovered that we needed to form a nonprofit organization in order to accomplish our goals and continue a good will plan to help all of the animals that are housed there.  Not knowing the meaning of "It's hard to start a non-profit" or "It can't be done", "Friends of Chesapeake Animal Services" was founded in July of 2008.
