A Great Way to Make New "Friends"

VOLUNTEERS FOR FRIENDS

Have a love of animals?  Want to make a difference?  Have just an hour or maybe 10 hours a week where you would like to volunteer some time, or a way to share some of your skills and talents?  Come be a part of a very good effort.

Friends of Chesapeake Animal Services is always looking for new volunteer members who would like to help make a difference in our city and help us give back to the community.  We are always looking for folks to help out with events, fund raisers, help with our school animal awareness program and various activities that we are participating in to help raise funds to benefit the well being of the Chesapeake Animal Control.

VOLUNTEERS FOR CHESAPEAKE ANIMAL CONTROL

Chesapeake Animal Control is always very appreciative of folks that want to give of their time to help in all capacities at the shelter.  Wheather you have an hour a week or 10 there is a lot to be done and you can help make a difference.

The volunteer program at the shelter is a commitment to helping out at the shelter, assisting animal caretakers, walking friendly dogs to give them exercise and time with a person.  This makes them more adoptable and appealing while it gives us a chance to get an idea of what the animal is like as a pet.

We also assist by hosting visitors to the shelter and making sure that they obey all shelter rules and understand the rules of adoption.  We have found that personal attention to potential adopters helps increase adoptions and gets these animals a life long home.

Or if office work is your interest, the office staff always has filing or computer work that they need assistance with.

If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities please go to the Chesapeake Animal Control web site to fill out an application and contact information.
